Wills
Do I need a Will?

A Will allows you to decide what you want to happen to your assets (money, property and personal effects) when you die. A Will determines who will benefit and at what age.

If you have children under the age of 18, your Will can name a person, or people, who you trust to look after them in the event of your death. These are known as the children’s Guardians.

If you do not name someone, the courts could make this decision and may give the responsibility to someone you would not have chosen.

If you do not have a Will when you die, your assets will be distributed in accordance with the law of intestacy instead of your wishes. This can mean that your assets pass to someone you would not have chosen – or that the person you want to pass your assets to does not receive anything.
